BIO

b. 1998

Daisy Gamble is an early-career researcher working across visual culture, archival collections and curatorial research. Based in Brighton, their work engages with historical and contemporary ephemera - particularly photographic and print culture - to explore the violence implicit in gender. Taking interest in queer (Bersani, Halberstaum) and antifascist (Theweleit) critical theory, Daisy reinterprets and complicates marginalised histories regarding locale, race and queerness.

Additionally, Daisy utilises a craft-based practice - they use found objects and materials for zinemaking, collage, photography printmaking, and chainmaille. They are inspired by slow practice that mirrors research and creates a meditative mindset.

They are currently participating in documenting and collections-based practice, as a volunteer, at The Regency Town House, including the intergenerational co-curation of an exhibition on ornamental wall mouldings and the interpretation of 1868-71 town plans.
